Please try to adhere to the school's policies below in order to maintain a safe and healthy environment for our children.
DRESS CODE:
Children should dress with comfort and with weather in mind. We make an effort to use the outdoor play area (or bike room) every day, so please dress your child appropriately. Attention should be paid to your child's ability to undress/dress himself independently, and to make toileting easier if possible. Book bags should be brought to school daily and checked at each day's end for parent notices and children's school work.
PARKING:
Use the spaces provided in the parking lot behind the school. Parking in the fire lane along the back and side of the building is strictly prohibited.
TRAFFIC FLOW:
It is necessary to observe the appropriate flow of traffic when entering the Temple parking lot. As you drive up the driveway into the parking lot, the flow of traffic is one way to the right along the curb in front of the school. Please observe this to keep our children safe.
DROP OFF / PICK UP:
Parents should arrive promptly at the beginning of class and accompany their child to the classrooms at drop-off time. Parents of students in the 2‘s class should pick up their children by the couches near the classroom hallway. Parents of students in the 3’s and Pre-K class should wait in the lobby near the front double doors. Please note - Temple David doors will remain locked at all times. Teachers must be notified in advance if there is any variation in carpool or driver.
SNACKS:
Parents will be assigned snack weeks by the teachers. Snacks must be kosher. If the item is a processed food, the letter, "U", "K", or the words Kosher, or Pareve, must appear on the packaging. If a homemade item is provided, the ingredients must be kosher (no lard, meat/dairy combinations). All natural fresh fruits and vegetables are kosher. A healthy snack is always preferred. Special treats are accepted on a child's birthday or for party occasions.
LOCKED DOOR POLICY:
In accordance with Temple David's policy, and for the safety of your children, the front doors will be kept locked at all times. There is a buzzer at the front entrance that, when pushed, rings in the 3's and Pre-K classrooms. The teachers will see you on a video monitor, and they will buzz you in. If the following requests are followed, arrival and dismissal will go smoothly.
1. Do not arrive more than 5 minutes before class time.
2. Do not open the door to anyone you do not know.
3. When you arrive, bring your child directly to his/her classroom. Exit only through the front doors.
4. At 11:30 am, 12:30 am or 2:00 pm (pick up time), please wait in the foyer by the front doors, and the staff will bring your child to you. Please do not park at the curb, or in the handicapped spaces.
5. We appreciate your help in keeping the children from running up and down the ramp in the foyer. We try to be considerate of other people in the building.
6. When you drop off or pick up for lunch bunch, just buzz and come directly to the extended day class room.
